For General Distribution:

Let Freedom Ring! i.e. Ride your bike everyday, and ride with friends on the new Haven and Hartford Freedom Trail Tours during September. Events are shaping up for an exciting time and of course we need your help. Please RSVP if we can count on you...

New Haven: from Monday September 11 to Friday September 15, CBC will offer advance booked tours of the 7 mile route for groups of up to fifteen. Start/Return site TBA, featuring free tours of the Freedom Schooner, Amistad. Group fee: $50.00.

On Saturday, September 16, we present in association with Trowbridge Renaissance the premier "Bike, Blade, Run, Walk It" New Haven Freedom Trail Tour with street closures departing and returning to an afternoon of Freedom Trail/neighborhood festivities at Trowbridge Square.

Hartford: same scenario re Booked Tours from Monday September 18 - Friday September 22. The Hartford Freedom Trail Tour is also approximately 7 miles. This week's event is presented in association with The Old State House. Booked tours will start and end at the Soldiers and Sailors Arch at Bushnell Park. Saturday's Premier street closed to cars "Bike, Blade, Run, Walk it" Hartford Freedom Trail will start and end at The Old State House, and feature re-enactments of the Amistad Trial and a start firing of the cannon (it is LOUD) and lots more.

CBC reaches out to you requesting all forms of your participation:

New Haven: our next planning meeting will take place on Tuesday, August 1 at 6:00 pm at Trowbridge Renaissance office, corner of Cedar and Carlisle; a route reconnaissance ride is also going to be scheduled and coordinated locally by Jim Bussmann (jjbuss@aol.com) and I will forward that message on to you promptly.

Hartford: coordinating committee meeting Thursday, August 3, 6:00 pm route reconnaissance ride meets at Soldiers and Sailors Arch; meeting follows at 7:15 at CBC HQ.

Rain cancels recon rides; meetings will be held as scheduled.

Your help is also requested in executing the debut booked tours. Think about youth, church, civic, business organizations that you could connect with the CT Freedom Trail Tours. A great (short and flat) tour for young and novice cyclists. We'll be postal mailing brochures to you shortly. Please reproduce and distribute widely.

Of course, there's "day of Saturday premier event help" and the most important thing you can do that day is Bike Blade Run Walk crawl pogo stick tip toe anyway you want to move it under your own powering of the CT FREEDOM TRAILS. Ride On! and please join CBC and our associates in making ACTIVE and VISIBLE the connection between Freedom and Bicycles.

Thank you, gy for cbc
